Pediatric: Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT)

This pediatric simulation scenario involves a 15-day-old infant admitted to the Pediatric Special Care Unit with intermittent fever, poor feeding, increased work of breathing, and lethargy. During the handoff from the Emergency Department, the patient develops supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). Learners will practice recognizing SVT in a neonate and applying Advanced Pediatric Life Support (PALS) guidelines including administration of adenosine and performing synchronized cardioversion. This scenario reinforces critical assessment skills and timely intervention in managing life-threatening pediatric tachyarrhythmias.
